28 days in China itinerary

云南香格里拉大经幡 Da Jing Fan (Large Prayer Flags), Shangri-la, Yunnan, China

After our earlier winter trip to Sichuan in January, we wanted to revisit this region and see the highly raved colours of fall in Jiuzhaigou. I have to say, I was not disappointed. It is one of the most peaceful and beautiful places I’ve been.

China is known for its massive population and for following its fame, Jiuzhaigou is nicknamed the “old people’s valley” by locals because of its free entry for visitors over 60 years old. The park attracts large hoards of local tourists especially in fall, but there are tricks to visit without the crowd.

We set an initial budget of S$1.2k, and ended up spending just a little more than that, with 2 international flights (SIN>Changsha, Dali>SIN), 1 domestic flight (Chengdu>Lijiang), and many trains rides.

When we went
Home sweet home 🏠 回家咯!

We stayed in private rooms throughout, ranging from hotels to hotel style guesthouses/minsu. Everything including international and domestic flights, accommodation and attraction tickets can be purchased on a popular english version of a chinese app, which makes it really convenient for non-chinese speaking travelers!
